About Roe River Books
We are an independent bookshop based in Dundalk, County Louth. We have been part of the town’s life since 2007, serving readers of all ages with a carefully chosen range of books, alongside school titles and educational supplies.
From the beginning, our focus has been on providing a welcoming, dependable place for books in the town centre, shaped by local needs rather than passing trends.
Rooted in Dundalk since 2007
Our early years were spent on Park Street, where Roe River Books became a familiar presence for families, students, and regular readers.
During this time, we built strong relationships with local schools and the wider community, becoming a trusted place for school book orders as well as everyday reading.
The Park Street years shaped the character of the shop, practical, approachable, and firmly rooted in everyday life in Dundalk.
Family run and long standing
Roe River Books is a family run business. The shop is run day to day by Tom, alongside his sisters May and Catherine.
From selecting stock and managing school book lists to welcoming customers and organising events, the shop has always operated through shared responsibility and long term involvement.
This continuity shapes the atmosphere of the bookshop, where customers are often greeted by familiar faces and personal knowledge matters.
Books for readers and schools
We stock books for everyday reading, gifts, and special interests. If you need help choosing, tell us the reader’s age and what they enjoy, and we will guide you.
For schools, we support book lists and bulk ordering, with a clear process from list to collection. Details are available on our Books for Schools page.
