Celebrate Brigid with Poetry at Roe River Books Dundalk
Welcome to the Roe River Books blog Until recently, we did not have a dedicated space online to document the
Sunday 8th March was International Women’s Day and we had the honour to host the wonderful Blackbird Theatre with their adaptation of James Joyce’s the Dead.
A full house enjoyed a wonderful performance by the cast, all expertly directed by Angela Hanna. All proceeds from the sold out performance were donated to the wonderful people at Women’s Aid, who also joined us on the night.
This was the first but certainly not the last theatrical event we hope to host here at Roe River Books, so make sure to keep an eye on our page for details of future events.

This event showed clear interest in bringing theatre into the space and confirmed that live literary performance has a place in our programme here in Dundalk. It is something we will continue to develop.
