Since its first publication more than 15 years ago, Céad Focal has sold more than 30,000 copies in its various editions. Whilst they search Stephen Cartwright’s delightful illustrations for hidden ducks and other jokes, children are gently introduced to a basic vocabulary of their first hundred words in the Irish language. For this new enlarged edition, minor amendments have been made to Stephen Cartwright’s illustrations, but the basic intent of learning through fun remains for a new generation of Irish language learners.
